Grossglockner, Austria: Travel View

Roadtrip to Grossglockner 

At the top of Grossglockner is 3798 meters high .

It is also the Austria's highest mountain . 

Summer 2018 , I had 48 km , scenic roadtrip experienced to Grossglockner high alpine road , the scenery is just perfect.

In this road you can drive as high up to the altitude of 2751m above sea level.

Grosslockner High Alpine Road is one of the most fascinating roads in Europe. So this is one of the best experience for the nature and drive lovers. 

At  2369m high, there is lookout view to the Grossglockner and Pasterze , as said to be the longest  glacier in Eastern Alps. 

Since its opening in year 1935, Grossglockner High Alpine Road  was popular for as a test course for automobile brands.

Green mountains , rocky mountains , landscape , simply amazing .

I want to do it again during winter for diffrent thrill and excitement .

Viewing lakes and falls is a picture perfect in my sight.

Houses built on flat ground in between mountains  or the edges of mountain  are well kept,

in my mind  everyday seems vacation for locals  but of course not .

Driving  was fun , but you can also go there by bicycle or motor cycle to inhale  green nature of high alpine road and experience the twist , ups and down  of the road..

Below is the ticket price for car and motorbike. 

Tickets for a day with car  will cost you 36 Euro .

Tickets for 30 day with car  will cost you 56 Euro .

Tickets for a day with motor bike   will cost you 26 Euro .

Tickets for 30 day with motor bike  will cost you 45 Euro .

Last entrance 45 minutes before the night lock

For your information, driving on Austrian motorways requires a 

Highway Toll Sticker (Vignette).

Vignette must be placed on your windshield.
